Pyramid Healthcare announced today its acquisition of Freedom Detox, a residential substance withdrawal management program for adult men and women located outside Charlotte in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Pyramid Healthcare’s acquisition of Freedom Detox was effective on October 3, 2019, and represents Pyramid Healthcare’s fourth behavioral healthcare acquisition since 2012 in the state of North Carolina.

Prior to acquiring Freedom Detox, Pyramid Healthcare acquired October Road Inc., an outpatient substance use and mental health treatment program and men’s residential program in Asheville, NC, in 2012, followed by Real Recovery, a sober living and substance use treatment program, also in Asheville, in 2015. Tapestry, a residential and outpatient eating disorders treatment program now in Asheville, Fletcher and Brevard, NC was added in 2017.

Pyramid Healthcare also opened and currently operates Silver Ridge, a residential substance use and mental health treatment program for mid-life professionals in Mills River, North Carolina.

Additionally, October Road will open an outpatient behavioral health treatment office in Charlotte, NC before the end of this year and a methadone clinic in Asheville, NC in 2020.

“We’re excited about this most recent and much needed service addition to October Road’s growing network of quality behavioral healthcare facilities in North Carolina. Along with our soon-to-open outpatient behavioral health treatment office in Charlotte, we’ll be able to offer a full continuum of quality treatment services in south central North Carolina,” stated Chad Husted, Vice President of Operations.

Freedom Detox opened in 2019 is accredited by The Joint Commission. They offer effective, high-quality, residential withdrawal management services including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), medication consultations, in-house support, counseling and continuity of care referrals for adult men and women.
