ALTOONA, PA – December 9, 2020 – Pyramid Healthcare announced today that it added the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) 3.5 Level of Care Certification seal to their website which formally identifies Hillside as one of the first behavioral healthcare programs in the nation to receive the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) 3.5 Level of Care Certification.

In November 2018, Hillside, a member of the Pyramid Healthcare family of behavioral healthcare facilities, was one of 10 addiction treatment centers invited to participate in the first ASAM Level of Care Certification pilot. The onsite review occurred in February 2019, and Hillside received the certification in February 2019. Valid for a period of three years, Hillside’s ASAM 3.5 Level of Care Certification expires in February 2022.

The ASAM Level of Care Certification Program, delivered in partnership with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), is the first program of its kind to independently assess and verify treatment programs’ capacity to deliver services consistent with the level of care standards described in The ASAM Criteria. Specifically, providers must meet conformance in all defining elements associated with the level of care they provide to receive certification.

Located in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on a secluded, 16-acre campus overlooking the Pocono Mountains, Hillside has offered highly effective and evidence-based detoxification and inpatient treatment for adult men and women since 2012. A variety of holistic activities, specialty programs and comprehensive and individualized treatment plans combine to provide clients with the tools and opportunities necessary to achieve long-lasting, meaningful recovery.

“It was an honor to be included in the ASAM Level of Care Certification pilot and to have had the ability to provide feedback on our experience as well as the standards development process. Pyramid Healthcare’s commitment to continuous quality improvement is the reason we truly value opportunities like this to have our fidelity to internationally recognized care standards objectively assessed,” stated Winnie Nagle, LPC, Ph.D. and Chief Clinical Officer for Pyramid Healthcare.
