Altoona Detox

Altoona Detoxification Unit
Melanie Lampenfeld, Program Director

Detoxification

Clients are ensured a safe, medically-supervised detoxification. Our detox is based on a drug-free model, however, medications are used when they will relieve the physical discomfort of detoxification. Buprenorphine is part of our protocol for the detoxification of opiate-dependent clients.

A detox specialist offers group and individual counseling to clients who are physically stable and able to begin their recovery program.

Adolescent Detoxification

During the detoxification process the staff provides a safe supportive environment while preparing for for the transition to an adolescent D&A program.
