Academic Programs Work in Concert with Therapeutic Goals:

We believe that when a young person can claim success in the classroom, it is a confidence booster which enhances therapeutic success. Our academic programs are designed to offer opportunities for success both in the classroom and in the therapeutic setting. Counselors and Educators work together for the client to engage and maximize therapeutic goals.

Certified Teachers are Committed to Student’s Long-term Success:

Our certified teachers work closely with the client’s home school district to ensure that a smooth transition back to the home school district is achieved when the client returns home. Upon discharge, grades and a portfolio of work is sent to the home district.

Key Elements of the Education Program:

  • Special needs students receive regular IEP meetings with parents/guardians and teachers
  • IEPs are written to IDEA protocols. All necessary paperwork (such as NOREP Trienniels) is completed
  • Students are expected to improve in all areas of academic work with an emphasis on improving reading/decoding and mathematic skills.
  • Identified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as an Approved Provider of Alternative Education
  • Education is conducted in small classroom settings
  • All instruction is individualized to facilitate student achievement
  • Students attend the local public school when treatment progress/status permits
  • Pennsylvania Instructional I & II Certified Teachers
  • Students participate in standardized testing such as PSSA, PSAT, SAT, etc.

Experiential Education:

Our unique community based education takes the students out of the classroom on a regular basis for hands-on learning opportunities. The students visit local parks and historical sites, participate in community clean-up projects, attend speeches, plays and concerts and attend local science museums and planetarium programs.
