Methadone Maintenance Programs

Methadone is a synthetic narcotic agent that is used legally
as both a pain medication and a blocking agent for the effects
of heroin and other opiates (including Oxycontin).

Methadone is used to treat narcotic addiction by suppressing
withdrawal symptoms for 24 – 36 hours. Individuals who are
prescribed methadone for treatment of heroin addiction,
experience neither the cravings for heroin nor the euphoric
rush that are typically associated with the use of that drug.

Methadone maintenance is not a cure for heroin addiction. It
has been called the most effective treatment method for opiate
addiction and, when coupled with behavioral therapy, medical
care, and support groups, offers the best chance for long-term
recovery from heroin/opiate addiction.

We offer:

  • Long-term methadone maintenance
  • Group Counseling
  • Family Counseling
  • Relapse prevention and support groups
  • Medical examinations
  • Clinical evaluation
  • HIV/Hepatitis C Counseling

Is Methadone right for you?

Have you been addicted to heroin or other opiates continuously
for a year or more?

Have you attempted other methods of treatment and failed?

Are you pregnant?

There are many factors that determine whether methadone is an
appropriate treatment method. Please contact us for a personal assessment.
