Altoona Residential Programs for Men and Women
Chris Blair, Program Director
Residential Non-Hospital Rehabilitation
Clients in our residential program will receive education, therapy, and medical care. Our residential program is based on the 12-step model and AA/NA meetings are an integral part of our treatment regimen. The program is highly structured with minimal free time. We treat clients who are participating in methadone maintenance programs and assist them in continuing their methadone treatment through arrangements with providers of that service.
Dual Diagnosis Component
Dually diagnosed clients will receive psychiatric care while enrolled in our residential and halfway house programs. Clients will be monitored and will receive proper medication to address their psychiatric diagnosis while participating in chemical dependency rehabilitation programming. Clients must meet DSM IV Axis I diagnostic criteria for both chemical dependency and mental health disorder.
Long-Term Programming (Level 3C)
In cases of extensive criminal justice involvement or numerous relapse experiences, a longer term residential program can be helpful. This program offers the same level of intensity as our residential non-hospital rehabilitation program for an extended period of time. Additional aspects of the long-term program include personal financial management with an emphasis on restitution, fines and costs, employment readiness training, community service work and addressing criminal thinking and behavior.
Partial Hospitalization Program
(with optional transitional housing)
This level of care is offered to clients who are in need of a structured program but who do not
